Well. Dammit. I was all ready to be done with Angel, at the end of last season, and then I watched tonight's premiere. (spoilers within)

(All comments are based on one viewing, and hence may reflect incomplete processing and imperfect recall.)

Of the good:

--Yea, verily, at 8:10 p.m., a great noise rose up from the people, and lo, it was the Wesley-fanciers, crying out in lust. OK, I mean, I'm not even really a Wesley-fancier, but day-yum. That man looked fine.

--Could this episode be any more of a god's-gift to Wesley/Angel slashers???

--Some (very) slight evidence of Gunn regaining a brain!

--Some (slight) degree of bickering between Gunn and Fred! which leaves me (probably in vain) hoping for a rift within the lute, that by and by makes all the music mute.

--Connor. Ahh, the lovely feral sociopathic little guttersnipe that he is ...

--Hallucination-Lorne. Even better than Lorne-in-Vegas.

--No Cordelia, hardly! (Yeah, I know, apologies to all the Cordy-fans in the audience.)

--Some parts of Angel's big speech. ("But hey, my girlfriend sent me to a hell dimension for a hundred years, so...")

Of the not-so-good:

--The Gunn goatee. No sir, I don't like it, I don't like it at all.

--Recurring Gunn/Fred face-sucking cutsie-poo. Just ... no. Please god, no more.

--Justine: (a) pointless, and (b) a pain in the ass. Unfortunately, we probably haven't seen the last of her.

--Imminent return of Cordelia. (OK, I said I was sorry.)

--Previews for next week's episode, which look putrid. Just how many cheesy Eeeevil Seductresses does the WB expect us to put up with in a month, anyway??

Ah, hell, I'll tune it in anyway. Like I need one more show to be following. <grumble>
